Izaac Williams’ Work with Orlando Coleman
At the inception of I Will, Izaac Williams found himself at a local stadium, coaching and training alone. Orlando, a professional basketball player, observed his methods and approached him, requesting a workout the following morning. Connor Morgan, a EuroLeague player and Canadian national team member, also joined the session.
Uncertain of what was expected and given no prior context or structure, Izaac relied solely on his lived experience, adaptability, and imagination. He initiated the workout with mobility, strength, and conditioning exercises to prime their nervous systems, only to be told that this wasn’t what they wanted—it was in-season, not pre-season. Despite the unexpected pivot, Orlando recognized something in Izaac’s approach—a unique duality, oscillation, and real-time synthesis, which Izaac himself began to consciously articulate during this period.
The workout exceeded expectations, and Orlando saw immediate value in Izaac’s methodology. This led to regular training sessions, with Orlando making rapid improvements. Without a contract or financial compensation, Izaac began attending professional team practices, working with Orlando while the team’s head coach and Tall Blacks assistant coach led structured team drills on the other end of the court.
As the season unfolded, Orlando emerged as the defining player of the championship, leading in multiple statistical categories:
• Leading scorer & leading rebounder
• 1st in true field goal percentage
• 2nd in two-point field goal percentage
• 3rd in three-point field goal percentage
• 2nd in steals, 4th in blocks, 5th in assists
• Played the entire 40 minutes of the final
• Defended the opposing team’s best player
This period solidified Izaac’s impact as a coach and the legitimacy of the I Will framework, demonstrating his ability to refine elite athletes under high-performance conditions, despite being uncontracted and operating outside of traditional systems. His presence, methodology, and approach became an undeniable force in Orlando’s championship-winning season.
